    Great News!

    strategic planning

After meeting 6 times for nearly 20 hours our strategic leadership team has completed the new strategic plan for 2018-2020. I personally am very excited about it and am simply amazed at how God was at work in each one of our meetings. Though we tackled some difficult things and were a very diverse group, there was a deep spirit of unity and joy and like-mindedness that only the Lord could have provided. Praise the Lord! What an awesome God we serve.

    So what’s next?

Now it is your turn to get involved!

I have discovered in my pastoral ministry that it is not so much change that people don’t like as much as it is being surprised by change. The team and I have worked hard on this plan. We are passionate about it. We have had lots of time to think on it and digest it. But you haven’t. Thus, we thought it would be best to roll out the plan slowly to give time for everyone in the church to hear it, digest it, and add any input.

So please mark your calendars for the following dates:

    • August 27th:
      • Be sure to attend this very significant Q&A session concerning the proposed church government change to elder-led. This is an important time to ask questions about it, to express any concerns you might have, and to show your support. We will also decide if we want to move forward by means of a leadership transition team. See the elder-led study guide question #11 for more details.
      • September 24th
        • Luncheon immediately following the morning service during which time myself and other team members will present the first half of the plan: “Less is More.”
      • October 29th
        • Luncheon immediately following the morning service during with time myself and other team members will present the second half of the plan: “Objectives and Action Plans.”

Because we all have busy schedules we are planning for these luncheons to be no longer than one-hour. If you want to stay longer, great; but we will seek to get all the information out in 30-45 minutes of time and leave the remainder of time for questions and feedback.

Having these two meetings at this time also gives us opportunity to use November and December to make any suggested changes. Then we will present it in its final form at our annual meeting early in 2018.

Again, a big thank you to the team who gave up so many nights and hours to serve the church body and a big thank you to the church for your prayers and support. What a joy it is to serve with all of you!

    In Christian Love,

    Pastor Andrew Manwarren
